Mammoet already operates a wide range of strand jacks around the world, and the range is currently led by a 900 [Te] strand jack. The strand jacks are used for all kinds of operations. For the ever expanding need for larger and stronger equipment, a strand jack with a capacity of 1260 [Te] SWL is needed. Mammoet Solutions is requested to come with a design for a SSL1400 strand jack. Initially a design for a single hollow cylinder with 84 strands with each a capacity of 15 [Te] was designed, but the anchor blocks made of 30CrNiMo8 are too expensive.
